Our "Why"

Recovery Station exists to empower people to live a quality life. We believe in creating the ideal work environment for you because when you are happy, healthy, well-skilled and fulfilled, you're in the best position to have a positive impact on the wellbeing of everyone around you.

Joining Recovery Station means aligning with a company that believes in empowering you and your future.

The Role

We predominantly see our clients in their homes, group homes, aged care facilities or in a public setting. One morning you may be helping someone trial a new wheelchair as they visit their local cafe or helping someone cook independently or advising on some new assistive technology to make staying at home more comfortable and functional.

You may see 3 or 4 clients one day, then the next you're working from home or having an office day to write reports, prepare resources, have supervision / training.

This role is ideal if you like to have genuine flexibility and control over how you structure your days - meaning your individuality is recognised + you don't miss family time or life after work.

Depending where you live, we tailor your caseload to service clients close to home. Your personalised admin support team will work with you to ensure you aren't zigzagging around the Coast.

Currently have capacity for someone to service a caseload on the Central Coast or Newcastle/ Lake Macquarie if you live further north.

Your role can be constructed as
full-time
or
part-time
and
we have offices in Erina and Toronto
for you to use to either see clients or collab with your team.

You will be supported to confidently:

  • Service a predominantly adult, NDIS & DVA caseload (12 yrs old and up)
  • Support clients with a range of tasks such as life skills (budgeting, shopping, travel, cooking), pressure care, sensory, cognitive re-training, prescribing equipment and assistive tech, upper limb + fine & gross motor therapy plus home assessments and modifications (initially minor and you can receive more training in complex mods)
  • Complete comprehensive assessment and reporting eg initials, functional capacity, Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) or Activities of Daily Living (ADL) & SIL or ILO

We see people living with lifelong disabilities, neurological conditions (MND, MS, Parkinsons, Stroke), TBI/ABI, Autism/ASD, amputations, hearing or vision impairments and more. You'll service a varied caseload meaning lots of interesting things to learn and you'll never get bored

About You

  • Qualifications in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration
  • Current driver's license with use of own vehicle
  • You are passionate about working with adolescent and adult clients
  • We have pathways for clinical specialisation and leadership opportunities for experienced clinicians plus tailored roles if you're looking to return from parental leave
  • New Grads are welcome to apply for our Graduate program

Experience within an NDIS role would be advantageous initially, but if you have a foundation in aged care, paediatrics or hospital work and are curious about making the move - reach out and let us know as we have a supportive team who has been in your shoes and they're happy to help you make the transition.

How We Make an Impact

Recovery Station provides community and clinic based allied health services, with a strong focus on disability and senior health. For
20 years

we have grown and now proudly offer services in the community across Sydney, the Hunter, Central Coast, Tamworth and nationally via telepractice.

Together, our passionate multidisciplinary team of OTs, Mental Health OT's, Psychologists, Speech Pathologists, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Dietitians and Allied Health Assistants collaboratively share their knowledge and experience to holistically design an individualised service to help improve the quality of life for people living with a disability or looking to age as independently as possible.

How We Foster a Positive Team

  • We value flexibility so you can fit us in around your personal life eg family, sport, volunteering or another part-time role.
  • Remuneration that matches your experience plus the option to stretch for RDO's and financial bonuses if you choose
  • We trust you to work from home, or in the office, via telehealth and we give you a laptop and pay a phone/ data allowance to support this
  • A member of our administrative team will assist you with scheduling your appointments efficiently to minimise travel, to make calls and take messages for you whilst you're in sessions and to assist with the maintenance of compliance documentation, such as setting up and adjusting funding plans
  • Travel is reimbursed at $0.99/km + tolls and parking at appointments
  • Novated leasing options
  • Ability to transfer between offices if you move one day
  • You'll have an office filled with clinical resources (plus snacks to fuel you too)
  • Discounted Health Insurance for you and your family plus other everyday savings on your Energy Bill, online shopping, groceries and more
  • An Employee Assistance Program is available to provide external, confidential support
  • To bring us together as a team, we have a fun wellbeing program that involves monthly social events. Previously we've gone to mini golf, ten pin bowling, wheelchair basketball, made dumplings, candles and gingerbread houses, painted and celebrated important dates such as International Women's Day and mental health month and much more

Professional development:

  • Your thorough Orientation will be supported by ongoing one on ones with your Supervisor to discuss your goals with a personalised CPD plan. We'll help you set your learning goals and plan what you'd like to upskill in. For example, would you like to learn more about Mods, AT, Mental Health, Driving Assessments or take on a leadership role?
  • One on ones will be complemented with monthly inservices with other OT's so you can learn from external presenters, share ideas, resources and stay up to date with any industry updates
  • We love facilitating development pathways with clinicians seeking career progression and added responsibility via either supervising students/ grads/ junior staff, increased complexity of caseload or involvement in management procedures depending on what avenue you'd like to explore
  • Two paid CPD days per annum to be used towards external training of your choice
  • Formal and informal opportunities to collaborate with other members of our MDT to broaden your clinical knowledge and provide holistic care to our clients
  • Companywide training day where we bring the entire business together (circa 130) and invite external presenters to provide unique, tailored CPD for each discipline based on your requests
