Our Cyber Security and Risk team is currently seeking to appoint a **Security Governance Analyst** in this newly created role. You’ll be responsible for shaping and managing IT security policies and systems, leading cyber security awareness initiatives, providing expert advice on security measures, and ensuring alignment with key standards and privacy regulations.

**About the Role**
- Create and maintain IT security policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Support and improve the organisation’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) using standards like ISO 27001, NIST, Essential 8, and NSW Cyber Security Policy.
- Run training and awareness programs to boost staff knowledge of cyber security.
- Advise on security controls and help ensure compliance with privacy and security requirements.
- Assist with audits by gathering evidence, identifying risks, and recommending improvements.
- Communicate security concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

**About You**
- **Security Policy Development**: Ability to create and maintain IT security policies and procedures.
- **Security Frameworks Knowledge**: Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST, Essential 8, and NSW Cyber Security Policy.
- **Training & Awareness**: Experience in running cyber security education programs for staff.
- **Risk & Compliance**: Understanding of privacy principles, risk management, and legal compliance in IT.
- **Audit Participation**: Skills in supporting security audits, identifying risks, and recommending improvements.
- **Communication**: Strong ability to explain security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- **Collaboration**: Capable of building relationships across teams and with external stakeholders.
- **Adaptability**: Able to stay updated with changes in legislation, standards, and best practices in cyber security.

**Essential Requirements**
- Tertiary qualifications in computer science, information and technology or related technical field and/or relevant experience.
