**About Us**

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is a wonderful place to expand your career and grow your skills and knowledge. As a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, we provide a range of public health services to the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Region.

The Primary Care and Community Health Unit consists of 9 centres that provide a range of services for children, young people and their families, adults, older people and their carers. Our services range from health promotion, prevention and early detection through to assessment, treatment and continuing care. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in people’s homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth).

This 4 day a week position is a multi-level/grade position open to applicants with varying skills levels, and we encourage all interested applicants to apply, a table with the various expectations and accountabilities for each level is available upon request. Pay level will change according to applicant level. It is a Temporary role situated at our Lemongrove Campus.

The Safe Wayz Program also coordinates primary prevention initiatives to educate children, families, schools, carers, community and professionals about problematic & harmful sexual behaviours (PHSB) including guidance on developmentally appropriate sexual behaviours. This will involve building capacities to identify and understand PHSB, collaboration with agency partners, provision of consultation and training, whilst also advocating for system and practice changes.

The program team will include one Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identified role, and one non identified position. The Aboriginal Safe Wayz Clinician will lead engagement with Aboriginal communities, stakeholders and clients; also providing cultural consultation to support non-Aboriginal clinicians working with First Nations children and families. The team will be supported through a state-wide clinical network, who will provide clinical and cultural connections, and support in undertaking this work. As an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Safe Wayz Clinician you will have access to individual cultural supervision.

The Aboriginal Safe Wayz Clinician is responsible for the provision of specialist therapeutic and case management services to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal adults, young people and children who have been sexually assaulted or who are under the age of 10 years with problematic harmful sexual behaviours. The role will also work with Aboriginal communities, organisations and relevant stakeholders to develop integrated prevention and response strategies.

This position will work with the Safe Wayz Coordinator to implement the Aboriginal Action Plan linked to the Safe Wayz Pathway for children under 10 with Problematic and Harmful Sexualised Behaviours.
