**The Role**
In this role you will build and sustain strong relationships with domestic and international stakeholders and partners as part of the International and Domestic Engagement Directorate (I&DE), at The Australian Civil-Military Centre (ACMC).

You will contribute to the ongoing development of National Civil-Military-Police capabilities to prevent, prepare for and respond more effectively to conflicts and natural disaster overseas by facilitating collaboration, development and sharing of best practice in a multi-agency environment.

Use your excellent interpersonal, leadership, analytical and stakeholder management skills to lead a team who influence strategic and international policy through a range of domestic and international dialogues, committees, and workshops.

It’s an exciting environment where no two days are the same, but as an (APS 6) Engagement Manager you can expect to:

- Report to the Assistant Director I&DE and play a key role in delivering ACMC’s strategic engagement to partners, stakeholders, Civil Society, Industry, academia and international organisations. For this you will draw on your ability to network with a range of diverse stakeholders across government and Defence, as well as your ability to build lasting relationships both internally and externally.
- Proactively participate as a team member responsible for delivering ACMCs strategic and international engagement objectives.
- Work collaboratively to prepare timely and quality programs within portfolios of strategic engagement activities and events.
- Manage, coordinate and facilitate events and interagency workshops as part of the broader team.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in teamwork and group activities.

Some work travel may be required for this role, including travel outside of normal business hours and on weekends. Full time remote working is not an option in this role.

**About our Team**
The ACMC's mission is to support the development of national civil-military-police capabilities to prevent, prepare for and respond more effectively to conflicts crises domestically and overseas. The ACMC promotes best practice civil-military-police collaboration and engagement in conflict and crisis management, using a multiagency approach.

The ACMC is a small, dynamic organisation, drawing staff from a number of Australian Government departments and agencies (Defence, Foreign Affairs and Trade, Home Affairs, and the Australian Federal Police), as well as the New Zealand Government, and the Non-Government sector through the Australian Council for International Development.

You will play an important role as a manager of a team focused on achieving excellence across a variety of areas in high-profile, complex portfolios. This will be attributed by your high standards, pursuing tasks to completion, and attention to detail.
- High-level of stakeholder engagement experience and will be able to identify relevant stakeholders’ expectations and concerns and develop a clear understanding of the issues and solutions to achieve outcomes.
- A can-do attitude and an ability to maintain a positive attitude towards complex problems, while using sound judgment and understanding to achieve outcomes.
- Outstanding time management and organisational skills, while remaining resilient and adaptable to changing plans and priorities. You will be able to work effectively independently and within a team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and be comfortable engaging and collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders while building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships.
- Experience in leading and coaching a small team and capable of reviewing and developing the quality of work undertaken by others within a work group. You will be able to exercise the associated people and financial responsibilities to achieve business outcomes.
