Case Underwriting Manager Aus/nz

**Role Overview**:
Responsible for driving technical excellence within Case Underwriting area, oversee case underwriting for **new** and renewing deals in order to maintain market competitiveness, profitability, and regulatory compliance. Own and execute remediation activities for travel portfolio in alignment with Travel LoB strategy. Work closely with other teams in Travel Line of business across all the functions to further drive processes digitization, technical excellence and assure compliance with guidelines and functional rules for underwriting function.

**What you will be doing**:

- Oversee Case UW within AU & NZ and for Global clients, work closely with Sales teams in preparation of the offers to clients, both new deals and renewals.
- Assure proper deals pricing, and facilitate and support all APAC deals requiring L6 or higher approvals.
- Leading large commercial accounts such as banking for AUS and NZ from case underwriting perspective.
- Work collaboratively with business teams and sales on underwriting activities to enable growth and improved profitability for new deals and renewals.
- Work closely with Pricing Team to assure proper performance of tariff-based book, initiate required changes in case of performance deviating from expected one or driven by the market needs.
- Assure compliance with AzP Underwriting guidelines and Allianz Standard for Underwriting.
- Remediation of the accounts identified by Portfolio monitoring team, provide performance data of clients to central portfolio monitoring database.
- Support planning process to the level of commercial margin projections for the clients’ portfolio.
- Assure the right process of overseeing fulfilment of actions points coming from conditional Product Risk Assessment approvals.
- Assure alignment and support to Actuarial function, good visibility on the changes within portfolio to assure proper reserves evaluation.
- Work closely with product team on Simplicity product rollout and other future product changes.
- Drive rollout and usage of digital tools in Underwriting area, like Sales Force, Pricing Tool etc.
- Work collaboratively with business teams to plan capacity and drive prioritization that aligns with business strategy.
- May perform other duties as assigned

**What you need for this role**:

- Actuarial or financial background required
- Five (5) years of experience in portfolio monitoring, underwriting or other insurance area.
- Experience in travel insurance industry as a plus
- Experience with banking clients as a plus.
- Experience in managing virtual multinational teams
- Fluency in English.
- Openness to work internationally across different cultures.
- Good communication skills.
