**WHO ARE WE?**
Landsdale Farm is an educational farm located 20 mins north east of Perth. We welcome the public daily to spend the day at the farm with their children looking at and interacting with animals. We host school excursions, birthday parties and other events. We are on 10 acres of land right in the suburbs and we have in the vicinity of 200 animals of all different type.
**WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?**
With so many animals, gardens, grounds and programs here every day we need someone to help keep everyone swimming in the same direction. This role is mainly focussed on coordinating animal care, feeding and grooming tasks as well as contributing to grounds keeping to keep the place looking nice. We value people who enjoy learning and trying new things
**WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?**
We are looking for a new team member to play a leadership role among our farm staff. You will lead by example and provide on the job guidance and training to your paid and unpaid colleagues. You will have a range of typical farm skills, particularly those related to animal care, skills you may have acquired growing up on a farm or at Ag school or similar. This role will involve some weekend work with our preference being a 5 day work week with one weekend day.

**ESSENTIAL SKILLS**
- Highly developed interpersonal & communication skills - leadership
- Highly developed interpersonal & communication skills - customer service
- Basic animal husbandry skills including but not limited to tagging, health checks, birthing, and general upkeep
- Experience with a variety of animal types such as poultry and other fowl, ruminants and or equine.
- Basic machinery skills and confidence to operate safely
- Experience with operating a vehicle with a large trailer, such as a stock trailer, boat or caravan.
- A positive can-do problem-solving outlook on life and work.
- Willingness to enjoy a healthy work life balance and the personal work ethic to identify priorities as they arise
- A positive attitude toward diversity in the community including the contribution and role of people with disability.
**DESIRABLE SKILLS**
- Formal education in an agricultural setting such as Ag School, or tertiary studies in agribusiness etc or equivalent experience.
- Certificate level safety training in areas of OSH such and chainsaw ticket, chemical handling etc.
- A network of connections of hobby or commercial farmers to draw on and contribute to positively.
- A basic understanding of the values of disability services and the goals of social role valorisation.

**Salary**: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
