Farm Assistant

**Landsdale Farm is Hiring for weekend staff (with some weekday options as well)**

Lansdale Farm is an educational farm located in Perth’s northern suburbs. We are visited by kids for birthday parties and excursions or just for pleasant day out with gardens and animals. The crowds on weekends are typically families visiting the farm for an enjoyable day out or a birthday party. Our goal on these days is to ensure visitors have a great day out with lots of animal interaction whilst also protecting the welfare of our animals.

We have a vacancy for a Farm assistant or Farm Hand on weekends in particular with limited opportunities during the week as well.

**Farm Staff**

Weekend farm staff usually fill a mixed role of customer service and animal care. You will have opportunities to help children interact with animals in a safe and positive way that helps them learn how to treat and care for animals that are much smaller than them. You will also get to feed, and water and clean up after a wide range of animals from Donkeys to geese and all things in between. Your main tasks will be:

- Feeding animals with the public
- Helping children interact with animals
- Grooming and caring for animals
- Driving visitors around the farm on our tractor and carts
- General cleaning, tidying and organising

**What you need to know**

To be successful in this role you must be physically fit with a bright and friendly personality. You must enjoy giving good customer service and especially enjoy interacting with children. Adaptability and openness to change and continuous improvement is also key. We work in a collaborative team environment so being willing to contribute and receive contributions from others is really important.

We have a café on site as well so if you have experience in hospitality and especially as a barista be sure to mention this in your cover letter. This type of additional skill is an advantage.

**Job Types**: Casual, Part-time
Part-time hours: 15-20 per week

**Salary**: $21.44 - $30.80 per hour
