About the role

Are you ready to be at the forefront of safeguarding AGL's financial future in the dynamic energy markets? We're looking for a skilled and proactive Compliance Advisor to join our Trading and Treasury Risk team. As a key player in financial risk management, you'll ensure AGL stays ahead of regulatory changes and compliance obligations, contributing to the success of our wholesale markets business.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Senior Manager Risk and Governance, you will:

- Develop and manage Compliance Programs and obligation registers to ensure effective compliance across AGL.
- Foster relationships across AGL for timely stakeholder communication on regulatory changes and compliance matters.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of voluntary and mandatory schemes for greenhouse gas emissions reduction.
- Provide assurance over regulatory reporting for the Renewable Energy Target (RET) Scheme.
- Assist the Senior Manager Risk and Governance in managing compliance obligations related to Anti-money Laundering (AML)/Counterterrorism Financing (CTF) and AGL's Australian Financial Service License (AFSL).
- Maintain AGL's AML/CTF and AFSL Compliance Programs.
- Investigate and manage control breaches or failures.
- Deliver regular internal management reports on compliance status.
- Prepare the AUSTRAC Annual Compliance Report.

About you

What you’ll bring to the table
- Proven experience in a similar role in audit, regulatory, compliance, and/or risk management.
- Proactive stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to drive compliance requirements and escalate issues timely.
- Attention to detail with a focus on excellence.
- Exceptional documentation skills.
- Undergraduate qualification in a business, analytical or similar discipline
- Background in utility or financial services markets highly regarded.
- Legal or regulatory experience will be beneficial.
