The Mobile Back-End Technical Lead role is typically responsible for an entire technical domain as well as the people manager for all the engineers that work in that domain. They have mastered all the fundamentals of software development, from problem exploration and solution discovery, through system and code design and implementation to the deployment and maintenance of live code in a production environment.

They use this knowledge and experience to lead a team of teams through the design development and maintenance of digital products and services. Whilst it’s important for the Technical Lead to have some involvement in the day-to-day work of software delivery, there is also a managerial and strategic planning role.

The Mobile Back-end Technical Lead has a deep understanding of the business and customer value their software products deliver. They typically work closely with a Product Manager on their team to maximise value and align with strategic business goals.

Beyond their immediate product teams, the Technical Lead contributes to the overall technical vision and effectiveness of the organisation as member of the Engineering leadership and Delivery Leadership teams. They help build and extend our tooling and processes to improve developer productivity, delivery and consistency.

You’ll have:

- 10 years’ experience in systems development and implementation.
- 3 years’ experience in equivalent technology people leadership roles.
- Expert knowledge of core technologies such as Kotlin, Spring Boot, Splunk, Git, and CI/CD.
- Experience in automation, monitoring, testing, and quality assurance.
- In-depth skills and experience in Agile methodologies, Continuous Delivery / DevOps.
- People leadership and a technical SME.
- Attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
