Lifeline Australia is a national suicide prevention charity providing all Australians experiencing emotional distress with access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. They are committed to empowering Australians to be suicide-safe through connection, compassion and hope. This is achieved through a partnership of over 10,000 committed volunteers and their member centres in communities across the nation.
**THE OPPORTUNITY**
Lifeline Australia is excited to offer an internal opportunity to join the Strategic Delivery and Implementation team, SD&E as our next **Strategic Planning Manager**. In this pivotal role, you will help shape the future of Lifeline by driving the execution of our 2024-2027 Strategic Plan.
Reporting to the Head of Strategic Delivery and Implementation, the Strategic Planning Manager will lead the development and implementation of strategic roadmaps and business plans across Lifeline Australia.
You will play a key role in translating our vision into action by working cross-functionally to ensure initiatives are scoped, prioritised, and delivered effectively. From driving business case development to coordinating agile delivery, this role is pivotal in shaping how Lifeline delivers services now and into the future.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Translate strategic objectives into coordinated delivery pipelines and business plans
- Maintain and update a five-year strategic roadmap aligned to organisational priorities
- Coordinate initiative card planning and support high-quality business case development
- Lead reporting on strategic delivery, including Board and executive updates
- Oversee proposal and tender responses in collaboration with internal stakeholders
- Support agile squad coordination and resource prioritisation
- Develop and monitor Service Committee work plans aligned to organisational goals
**POSITION CRITERIA**
We’re seeking a skilled planner and communicator with:
- Postgraduate qualifications in business, strategy, project management, or a related field.
- Strong experience in strategic planning, business case development, and initiative coordination.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, reporting, and project oversight skills.
- Experience working in complex or matrixed organisations (NFP/social impact experience is a plus).
- A collaborative mindset and passion for improving outcomes for help seekers
