**A bit about the role**

Wyndham City has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, innovative and passionate leader to lead the Community Strengthening Unit in the delivery of a wholistic and systems-based service to build strong communities in line with Council’s strategic priorities.

The **Coordinator **Community Strengthening** is pivotal in the success of the Community Strengthening and Inclusion Department and is responsible for leading initiatives in partnership with community to strengthen capacity and promote social justice, access and inclusion, human rights and participation.

**What you will deliver**
- Establish a systems-based approach to community strengthening that builds healthy, safe, connected, and inclusive communities.
- Generate innovative initiatives that deliver measurable social impact and public value.
- Support and lead a high-performing, community-focused, and outcomes driven team.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with government, local organisations, and community groups to respond to community need.
- Provide analysis, insights and regular updates on current and emerging social issues, trends and initiatives in Wyndham and recommend action required by Council and its partners

**What you will bring**
- Degree or diploma course in a relevant discipline such as human services, social sciences or, community development with several years of subsequent relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with extensive relevant experience
- Extensive leadership experience in driving innovation, service redesign and change within a team
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and written communication skills, paired with experience in managing budgeting processes and practices
- A continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive, and flexible attitude
