An exciting opportunity exists for a talented and highly motivated individual to join the Corporate Legal Team in the Office of the General Counsel as Legal Adviser at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

As part of the Corporate Legal Team, you will be part of a high performing team in DPC's Office of the General Counsel.

The Corporate Legal Team is responsible for providing legal advice and in-house counsel to Departmental staff about a broad spectrum of corporate and commercial issues affecting the Department, as well as advice and support to the Premier, Minister for Government Services and other DPC Ministers on corporate-related issues relevant to Government.

The Legal Adviser will provide strategic, risk-based legal advice on corporate matters, including contractual, intellectual property and employment issues.

We are seeking a hard-working lawyer with strong technical, analytical and conceptual skills, to be part of a dynamic team of lawyers. You must be admitted to practice and eligible to hold a Victorian practising certificate.

**About you**
- Previous experience providing technically excellent, strategically-focused and practical legal advice on complex legal issues.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Highly developed negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to independently and effectively manage competing priorities and deliver results under time pressure.
- Strong commitment to delivering timely, clear, solution-focused legal advice, including an ability to identify and escalate risks.
