As a Digital Environments Accessibility Coordinator, you will play an important role in transforming our digital landscape into an inclusive space for all. You will be the driving force behind digital accessibility initiatives that empower staff and students across the University to navigate and utilise our digital platforms effortlessly.
In this newly created role, you will pave the way for advancements in inclusivity and accessibility across our digital platforms. While experience in digital accessibility is valuable, your passion and commitment to the cause are equally important. This role offers room for growth, allowing you to expand your expertise and contribute to ongoing improvements.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Adopt and promote sound digital accessibility practices according to digital accessibility procedures and standards developed or used by the University- Actively collaborate with stakeholders across the University to identify current digital accessibility knowledge and identify opportunities for awareness and capability uplift.- Assist with actively engaging leaders at the University to gain support and generate enthusiasm for uplifting the digital accessibility culture within their areas.- Investigate, develop, and manage online digital accessibility training, run training campaigns as required, and provide appropriate reporting.- Identify opportunities to implement digital accessibility micro credentialing.- Assist with the organisation of a range of events, workshops, seminars, webinars and training sessions.- Assist with creating and maintaining program documentation, plans and reports, ensuring standards and requirements are met throughout the program lifecycle.- Champion digital accessibility best practices.- Complete general administration, including taking minutes.
This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position for up to 11 months.
At HEW level 6, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $84,871 - $91,158, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $99,300 - $106,655 annually.
About You- An undergraduate degree, preferably in change management, communications or a relevant discipline; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.- High level interpersonal skills with an ability to liaise and consult to achieve results with diverse groups and at senior levels across the University.- Strong communication skills including demonstrated ability to draft presentation materials, project documentation and reports.-
- Great attention to detail, work ethic with high level of enthusiasm to produce work of exceptional quality.- Strong planning, organisational and time management skills, including an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise own workload.- Ability to take initiative, but also to work co-operatively and collaboratively.- An interest in digital accessibility.
