We are seeking a values-driven Case Worker to provide Alcohol and Other Drug counselling and intensive case work.

About the role
We are seeking a values-driven Case Worker to provide Alcohol and Other Drug counselling and intensive case work (education, support interventions, assessment and referral) to individuals and families experiencing the impact of addiction from alcohol, drugs or gambling within an established framework. All support is achieved through recovery-based case management activities and working effectively with other members of a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive client service within the values and mission of TSA.
You will successfully
- Facilitate the assessment, intake, counselling, referral, educational/recreational support and case management activities for clients/residents of the centre
- Develop and monitor Individual Treatment Plans and maintain case management documentation, records, reports and data collection
- Acquire and maintain a good working knowledge of AOD referral and support options for residents within TSA Network and external agencies and work collaboratively and professionally with other agencies
- Participate in team activities and attends staff meetings when scheduled and demonstrates a supportive approach to other staff members which contributes to the overall success for the service and clients
- Contribute to the establishment and effective functioning of the Gold Coast Recovery Services Fairhaven through input into policies, procedures and protocols, and assisting with projects as required which are relevant to your area of expertise
This is a casual position based in Eagle Heights, QLD. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SACS QLD Lvl 4 - Comm Srvcs Wkr Lvl 4.
You will have
- Tertiary or other qualifications within Community Services, Social Work or similar discipline, or extensive relevant experience with a minimum of Certificate IV qualifications in AOD
- Current Driver’s licence
- Imperative that the incumbent maintains an Alcohol, Drug and Gambling free presence at all times
- Solid level of experience (minimum 2+ years) in the implementation of case management and systems for disadvantaged and/or complex needs clients
- Knowledge of or experience in the drug and alcohol service provision
- Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions
- Experience working in collaboration with other organisations to develop and tailor programs to meet clients’ needs
- Desirable that the successful applicants have an understanding of the issues faced by people experiencing substance use disorders, mental ill health and other disabilities
- A national police record check is required
