The Gold Coast Engineering team is responsible for the technology that is the powerhouse for Consumer and Business Banking Digital Technology.

**How will I help?**

The Technical Lead function in Westpac plays an important role in the development and maintenance of technical solutions and ensures that the detailed design and operations are fit for purpose.

This position sits within the Consumer Digital Technology business unit which delivers online and mobile sales & servicing functionalities to customers across Westpac Group brands.

Core Responsibilities in the role will include:

- Provide guidance on usage of software tools and processes through defined solutions.
- Provide oversight and validation of proposed complex solutions/changes to business services to ensure ongoing stability and sustainability
- Ensure that agreed standards and processes within Westpac are adhered to ensure fulfilment of regulatory obligations
- Track solutions through all phases and be involved in resolving issues to maintain effective governance, reporting and control
- Provide high-level technical expertise to business/technology stakeholders to support relevant suppliers and other business stakeholders

**What do I need?**

Mandatory skills:

- Considerable experience in web-development, primarily in systems design and development, support, and maintenance
- Experience in real-time integration and system analysis
- Experience with developing microservices/REST API using Java or Microsoft technology stack
- Experience with DevOps techniques and practice
- Expert knowledge in at least one technical specialism, such as a Java/Dot Net
- Advanced analysis, problem solving and troubleshooting and consultative skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Good to have Skills:

- Experience with front end technologies such as React.js/Angular.js is an advantage
