**Job Purpose**

An exciting opportunity for a Transport Manager to join our growing team

This role will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of all freight transport operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of goods. It includes managing carrier relationships, ensuring compliance, optimizing performance, and delivering customer satisfaction. You’ll lead procurement, rate management, vendor onboarding, and a transport team while driving operational excellence and strategic development.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Manage spot pricing and long-term rate negotiations for FCL, LCL, air freight, breakbulk, and 3PL services.
- Secure specialized solutions for oversized and non-standard cargo.
- Negotiate, implement, and maintain long-term carrier agreements.
- Manage fuel surcharge models and system rate accuracy.
- Lead vendor onboarding and ensure compliance with DPW standards.
- Manage vendor invoicing, ensure dispute resolution, and maintain credit control.
- Drive the profitability and performance of transport operations (P&L oversight).
- Lead and develop the transport team, ensure safety and operational KPIs are met.
- Collaborate across departments, escalate issues as needed, and uphold team accountability

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
- 8+ years in freight forwarding, particularly in domestic transport
- 5+ years leading a team
- Strong understanding of the Australian supply chain
- Excellent computer skills
- Strong customer service skills and attention to detail
- Experience managing customer transport needs (import/export)
- Ability to work and resolve issues independently
- Cargowise (Wise-Tech) experience advantageous
- Customer service commitment
- Collaborative internal and external engagement
- Transport reporting experienced and able to provide insights
- Self-driven and results focused
