**The Role**
As an Assessment Officer at the Department of Education, you will be part of a team who are responsible for managing and accessing Child Care Subsidy (CCS) Provider and Service Approvals, including service changes of ownership.
The team sits within the Regulatory Operations Branch, which consists of five geographically dispersed teams which are responsible for the integrity of Child Care Subsidy payments, including policy and advice to Government on integrity, data analysis, approval of child care providers, education and engagement with the child care sector, ensuring compliance with requirements and fraud investigation.
The Early Childhood and Youth Group is focussed on making high quality, affordable and accessible early childhood education and care to Australian children and families. The group is responsible for the effective implementation of the Government’s Child Care package, including the administration of the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and Child Care Safety Net.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Document relevant information, maintain a high level of record keeping across a range of IT systems.
- Research and identify relevant information, data, evidence and documentation; and critically analyse it to make informed and evidence-based administrative decisions /actions under review.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with child care providers using concise, logical, plain and well-written decisions and other correspondence with strong attention to detail, using appropriate legislative references.
- Provide assistance with progressing business improvement projects related to approvals initiatives.
