**ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY**:
Join our dynamic Aquatics team at St Lucia and play a pivotal role in ensuring a safe and enjoyable swimming environment. As a Lifeguard, you’ll have the responsibility of overseeing activities, ensuring safety protocols are met, and making a difference in the community. **The current requirement is for a qualified lifeguard to work 22.5 hours per week, Wednesday - Friday from 4am - 12noon.**

**In this role you will**:

- Supervise swimming activities, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of patrons.
- Educate pool patrons about water safety and appropriate pool behaviours.
- Handle operational tasks such as opening/closing of the venue, event setups, equipment maintenance, and more.
- Act promptly in emergencies, performing rescues and providing first aid as necessary.
- Regularly test pool water quality and inspect emergency equipment.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, promoting a positive image of UQ Sport in the larger University community.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- High work ethic, commitment to professional presentation and the ability to maintain an appropriate level of fitness throughout employment.
- Previous experience as a lifeguard is desired
- Pool Lifeguard Certificate
- Blue Card
- First Aid & CPR Certificates
- Flexibility in your work schedule, including weekends and early mornings is an advantage.
