We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Support Worker to assist an NDIS client in developing basic cooking skills and providing transportation on Sundays. This role involves teaching simple recipes, fostering independence in the kitchen, and ensuring safe and timely transportation to and from activities or appointments.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Cooking Support**:

- Teach the client how to prepare and cook simple, nutritious meals in a safe and engaging manner.
- Support the client in meal planning, ingredient selection, and grocery shopping if required.
- Promote kitchen safety and hygiene practices.
- **Transportation**:

- Provide safe and reliable transport to and from designated locations, including grocery stores or other activities related to cooking.
- Ensure timely pick-up and drop-off while adhering to all road safety regulations.
- **Skill Building and Empowerment**:

- Encourage and support the client’s independence in the kitchen.
- Tailor the cooking lessons to the client’s abilities and preferences, ensuring an inclusive and enjoyable experience.
- **General Support**:

- Maintain clear and respectful communication with the client and their family/guardian.
- Monitor and report progress and any concerns to the appropriate parties.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Experience in cooking and teaching basic culinary skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Understanding of NDIS standards and person-centered care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, adaptability, and a passion for empowering others.

**Job Types**: Subcontract, Casual

Pay: From $31.67 per hour
