**Position Information**:
Westfields Sports High School (1490 students, including 61 Aboriginal enrolments and 67% of students from a language background other than English) includes a special intake of talented sportspersons. The school is committed to providing each student with the educational opportunities and quality resources essential for the achievement of personal excellence in scholarship, citizenship, sport and the arts. The school values innovative curriculum programs, differentiated learning, the creative implementation of technology in teaching and learning as well as accelerated programs for talented students. Westfields Sports is committed to providing each student with a supportive learning environment where they can achieve their best in all areas of their learning. The Languages faculty at WSHS also incorporates the EAL/D staff and the HT is responsible for the development and supervision of all EAL/D staff and programs in the school. Westfields Sports delivers Italian, Spanish and Japanese.

2. Expert knowledge of curriculum and assessment with the capacity to lead the development and implementation of innovative and high quality teaching and learning programs that support a culture of high expectations.
3. Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal and leadership skills with a capacity to build productive teams and promote professional learning and practice.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
