Assistant Category Manager

**About the role**
As an eCommerce Assistant Category Manager you are responsible for achieving sales and profits targets for the online portfolio, implementing category strategies and supporting the wider team in the execution of the eCommerce category strategy.
Reporting to the Category Manager, you will also:
- Lead commercial conversations for the category with internal and external stakeholders
- Utilise available data to regularly review performance with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate across teams & suppliers to deliver the BWS customer plan and category activations
- Continuously leverage data & insights to drive continuous improvement and sustainable growth for both BWS and our supply partners.
- Optimise the merchandising of products across our sites, app and partner sites to maximise profit
- Support the Category Manager with the development of the online trade plan, including supporting the execution of the plan.
- Provide insights into competitor activity and perform weekly competitor audits, bringing insights and actions to meetings.
**About You**
You will bring to the role strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships. You will take initiative and be solution focused. You will have solid commercial acumen and critical thinking with the ability to manage competing priorities.
You will also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Experience managing the merchandising of an eCommerce site
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of Profit and Loss statements
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills; knowledge of SAP highly regarded
- Commercial understanding of the online trading environment, with a customer centric lens.
- Understands both compliance and policy requirements to operate in buying and in Liquor
