**Salon Assistant - Pet Grooming Salon (Part-Time / Casual)**

Do you love animals and aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty? Fluffy & Co. Professional Pet Grooming is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic **Salon Assistant** to join our growing team.

**About the Role**:
This is a hands-on support role in a busy grooming salon, working closely with our groomers to help pets feel safe, calm, and cared for. Your responsibilities will include:

- **Bathing, blow drying, and brushing dogs and cats** of all breeds and sizes
- Assisting groomers by **helping handle stressed, anxious, or reactive animals**:

- Holding pets safely and confidently when needed
- **Cleaning up after animals, including pet excrement**:

- General cleaning, tidying, laundry, and other behind-the-scenes tasks
- Helping manage pet flow in and out of the salon
- Working closely with a team and following instructions carefully

While this role involves spending time with animals, it’s not just about cuddling puppies — it can be physically demanding, messy, and fast-paced. We’re looking for someone with a **strong work ethic**, a **can-do attitude**, and a willingness to get stuck in.

**Hours**:

- **Part-time / casual position**:

- Extra hours available from **mid-August to December** during our busiest season
- Must be flexible and willing to help out when needed

**About You**:

- You’re **comfortable handling dogs and cats**, including those who may be anxious, reactive, or stressed
- You’re **brave, hands-on**, and don’t shy away from mess or high-energy days
- You’re **reliable, punctual**, and take pride in being someone your team can count on
- You’re a **great communicator** with a friendly attitude
- You can **follow direction well**, take feedback, and adapt quickly
- You work well in a **tight-knit team** and keep a cool head under pressure
- **Experience in the animal care industry is highly regarded**, but not essential — we’ll train the right person with the right mindset
- While having pets at home is great, we’re looking for someone with a **positive, proactive attitude** and the ability to thrive in a busy, professional salon environment

**Applicants must be 16 years or older.** There’s no upper age limit — we’re simply looking for the **best person for the job**
