**Eligibility**

**Division Responsibilities**
Population Health Division's mission is to improve the health and well-being of all
Australians through evidence-based promotion of healthy lifestyles and good nutrition;
immunisation programs; tobacco control measures; prevention and treatment of blood
borne viruses and sexually transmissible infections; policies to support appropriate and
effective regulation of gene technology; and the implementation of strategies to reduce
illegal drug use, legal drug misuse and harmful levels of alcohol consumption.
**Branch Responsibilities**
Preventive Health Policy Branch leads the development and implementation of national
policies and program initiatives, including the National Preventive Health Strategy, to
promote healthy living and good nutrition, encourage Australians to adopt better eating
habits and active healthy lifestyles and to address the broader determinants of health and
health inequities. The Branch is responsible for providing advice, developing new policy and
building the evidence base on population health issues including in the key areas of
preventive health and nutrition.
**Section Responsibilities**
The Food Regulation and Governance Section is responsible for the governance and
committee support of the Australia New Zealand Food Regulation System. In addition, the
Section provides advice to the Australian Government on reforms to legislation as well as
national and international agreements which underpin food regulation in Australia.***
**Key Responsibilities**
Provide high-level secretariat services, including but not limited to:
- Taking and preparing minutes from high-level, complex multi-jurisdictional meetings.
- Provide specialist administrative advice, services and support.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of administrative policies.
- Prepare briefs, manuals, correspondence, reports and guidelines.
- Build and sustain productive working relationships with internal and external clients,
service providers and stakeholders.
- Draft and QA website updates.***
**Key Capabilities**
- Sound judgement and organisational skills and proven ability to take responsibility
for work, prioritising tasks and producing quality outputs to meet tight deadlines.
- High-level writing skills, including proof reading and editing, with good attention to
detail.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment, as well as under limited direction and

**Desirable Experience**
Prior secretariat experience is preferred but not essential.
