An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Coder to participate in a team environment that ensures the accuracy of clinical coding by interpreting and abstracting relevant clinical information from medical records and other clinical information systems. This position actively participates in the Clinical Coding Service quality improvement process which includes quality and targeted coder audits, education, validations and PICQ accuracy assessment.
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

**Key Responsibilities include**:

- Contribute to an accurate morbidity data base for the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) using the current edition of International Classification of Diseases 10th revision Australian Modification (ICD-10-AM), Australian Classification of Health Interventions (ACHI) and Australian Coding Standards (ACS).
- Manage workload to achieve various local Health Service and State data and activity reporting deadlines.
- Contribute to the quality of the coding service by taking responsibility for personal development and awareness of updates in coding practice.
- Actively participating in Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) auditing and education programs.
