As the Risk Strategy Lead within the Corporate Assurance Branch, your role will be vital in ensuring programs, projects and priorities are delivered effectively and efficiently. You will support strategic decision making at all levels by leveraging your experience in risk management and engagement. You will work closely with senior executives to identify how risk can be used in a practical way to help the Department deliver on its objectives, drive innovation, deliver meaningful change, and promote better health outcomes for all Australians.

This role will perform will be integral in assuring the Department meets its strategic priorities and outcomes by supporting risk management practices across the organisation. As an EL1 within the Enterprise Risk function of the Department, you will be responsible for:

- Understanding and communicating the risk position of the department to senior executive, to inform progress on the strategic direction of the Department
- Senior executive reporting to help identify both risk exposures, but more importantly opportunities for change and innovation
- Further development of key artefacts to ensure active engagement in risk management across the Department including the Policy, Framework and executive reporting suite
- Ensuring ongoing compliance of internal risk documentation with relevant standards, and legislation
- Identifying areas for further improvement in how risk is managed, communicated and engaged with across the Department
- Leading a small team to support broader capability uplift across the Department, with a focus on practical and meaningful change.
