**Description**:
About the role

You will be part of an experienced team of qualified professionals whose purpose is to ensure the integrity of the science behind our products. You will conduct research, provide technical advice and product development and regulatory expertise to assist in the launch of listed complementary medicines, assessed listed medicines, registered medicines, medical devices, foods, cosmetics, and other FMCG products. Work closely with regulatory, quality, technical services and marketing teams to ensure ideas successfully transition from conception to commercial reality.

This is a busy role in a fast paced FMCG organisation working with respected household brands. Your duties include:

- Provide evidence-based formulations and innovative solutions to identified marketing concepts within regulatory requirements
- Assist in defining concepts for efficient product development
- Keep abreast of global and local product, formula and ingredient trends and contributing to the development of innovative NPD ideas in line with company focus.
- Assist in making product development commercially viable and aligned with business initiatives to maximise return on investment
- Recommend permitted indications/therapeutic claims and marketing claims within regulatory requirements
- Prepare indication and claim substantiation files that meet relevant regulatory requirements
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders
- Maintain adequate records and documentation of all scientific affairs related matters, collaborating as needed with regulatory affairs for dossier development, maintenance, and management
- Ensure compliance of promotional material across various media platforms, including labelling and packaging, to appropriate regulations and legislation
- Advise and assist marketing on advertising compliance, including any pre-market clearance approvals, post-market advertising complaints and audits

**Skills and Experiences**:
About you
- Passion for complementary medicines
- Qualified Naturopath or similar with evidence-based medicine knowledge preferred
- Exceptional organisational and planning skills
- Experience successfully prioritising work requirements to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Support continual learning. Learning from your colleagues and taking the time to support your colleagues learning also
- High level of attention to detail
- Exposure to project management, preferably working within Stage-Gate processes
- Ability to communicate cross-functionally and to successfully adjust the technical level to suit your audience
- Agile mindset, with an ability to pivot to pivot as requirements
- Understand raw materials and be able to evaluate suitability for product development
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Demonstrated expertise in interpreting and critically analysing scientific research
- Strong understanding of TGA and FSANZ
- Medical Device, OTC, cosmetic and other FMCG regulatory requirements and guidelines desirable
