The Transformation Strategy and Program Management Office (PMO) Unit plays a key role in overseeing the reform program and supporting people to think and work differently. Reforming our mental health and alcohol and other drugs (AOD) sectors requires different mindsets, capabilities and ways of working. The Unit is a key coordinator and driver of the whole reform program.
The Project Officer in Transformation Strategy and PMO will work as part of small teams in this driving change. The role reports to Manager, Transformation Strategy.
Teams in the Transformation Strategy and PMO Unit will focus on building the culture, capabilities and ways of working to support reform in the division and in the sector. This includes promoting organisational culture and capability through coaching and facilitation of change management and cross-organisational activities.
People from diverse backgrounds and people with lived experience of mental health as a consumer or family, carer, or supporter are encouraged to apply.
The Project Officer, Transformation Strategy will support teams focused on building the culture, capabilities, and ways of working to support reform in the division and in the sector.
Accountabilities
- Contribute to the full life cycle of projects to meet departmental objectives including:
(a) Assisting in research, analysis and implementation of projects based on defined outcomes and outputs.
(b) Supporting the development of reform implementation plans for ongoing monitoring and oversight by executives and governance groups, and supporting and coaching reform leads to provide meaningful implementation updates.
(c) Contributing to analysis of implementation information and data, and the development of meaningful reports that prompt strategic discussions and actions and risk identification and mitigations.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of issues impacting the Mental Health and Wellbeing Division and lead critical projects.
- Where responsible for overseeing, monitoring or delivering projects, ensure they are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines.
- Assist in providing advice to stakeholders and assisting in the preparation and presentation of reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on a range of matters.
- Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
