This work experience activity provides an introduction to some of the Units located at RAAF Base Amberley and provides hands-on experiences that will showcase the range of career opportunities available within the Royal Australian Air Force.
RAAF Base Amberley is located 8 km west from the town of Ipswich and is home to the F/A-18F Super Hornet, C-17 Globemaster and the air-to-air Refueling Squadrons. As the host for the work experience program at Amberley, 23 Squadron is responsible for control and co-ordination of all Base activities, including the management of all facilities and activities on the airfield. Students will be exposed to a program of indoor and outdoor activities providing participants with an insight into a wide range of careers including aircrew type employment through to engineering, maintenance, logistics, air traffic control, fire & rescue, administration, ground Defence and many others.
Participants will have the opportunity to witness the diverse role of the largest Air Force Base in Australia and experience operations under the close supervision of highly professional Defence personnel. Information about the Defence recruiting process will also be included in the program. More details will be provided ahead of the program with your offer to attend.
