**About The Role**

This is a full-time ongoing role for a:
**Forensic Clinical Specialist RPN5/OT4/SW4/SP4/P4**

Do you want to be part of a high functioning team of senior forensic clinicians who provide forensic expertise to Monash Mental Health Program with respect to identified consumers and services?

We are seeking a Senior Nurse (Grade 5) or Allied Health Professional or Psychologist (Grade 4) who has extensive clinical experience in public mental health including the provision of forensic assessments and systemic interventions.

The Forensic Clinical Specialist Program is part of the Monash Health Forensic Mental Health Program and is operationally managed by Psychology and Specialist Services. FCSP aims to build capacity within the Adult Mental Health Service and the local Mental Health Community Support Service (MHCSS) sector in managing consumers with highly complex problems associated with comorbid mental health and forensic issues. The program is supported by Forensicare which provides training and assists with the development of service delivery initiatives to assist this consumer group.

**About You**

You are an experienced, energetic and determined in the clinical roles you have undertaken within mental health and forensic settings. You work collaboratively and think flexibly about what interventions may assist each consumer and the services that support them.

**You have experience in**:

- Providing clinical leadership with respect to primary and secondary consultations of complex consumers including mental state and risk assessments
- Working effectively with clinical leads and highly skilled staff within teams
- Liaising with effectively negotiating with people and services to improve patient outcomes
- A commitment to access and service provision in public mental health
- Mentoring, coaching and supervision of staff and health professional students

You are highly motivated and thrive on the challenge of supporting and developing teams and clinical programs. Naturally you have strong written and verbal communication skills, you are a team player, and possess well developed negotiation and influencing abilities that will be used in working with internal and external stakeholders involved with identified individuals.

**What You Need**:

- Current registration with AHPRA (where relevant)
- 10 years’ or more of proven clinical experience (allied health), 8 years’ experience as a registered psychologist, or 5 years’ experience (nursing)
- Experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams preferably in healthcare
- Experience in forensic mental health
