**The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to take on a senior role within the Group Treasury team and be part of the Treasury Leadership Team. In this role, you will develop and execute insurance strategy for the Group and its business units, as well as M&A transaction advisory support and execution.
This interesting and varied portfolio of responsibilities creates a unique opportunity to shape how we work collaboratively with the business and our service partners to deliver advice and service.

Home location of the role: Norwest
**What you’ll do
- Develop and execute the general insurance strategy, including annual renewals and leading the underwriting process, with plans to expand into self-insured risks like workers' compensation and public liability.
- Create and implement the strategy for the Group’s insurance captive subsidiary, focusing on risk retention versus transfer in line with market opportunities.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the insurance captive, overseeing audit, tax compliance, and coordination with the captive manager.
- Oversee M&A transactions by providing advisory support and execution, including due diligence related to Treasury functions and General Insurance.
- Collaborate with business unit leaders to coordinate the Group's risk engineering program.
- Act as the primary resource for all insurance inquiries, guiding new projects and leading the preparation of the annual insurance budget in partnership with Finance.Manage the claims process for key risks, such as property and cyber insurance, while delivering insightful presentations to internal stakeholders (CFO, CRO and Board) and ensuring strong internal controls are maintained.
**What you’ll bring
- 10+ years experience across insurance strategy and M&A Treasury advisory and execution for an ASX listed entity
- Strong relationship management skills with evidence of working effectively and collaboratively within and across teams in an agile way
- Proven ability to manage diverse stakeholders and exert influence to deliver on commitments, including CFO and ExCo level, external service providers and business units
- Ability to communicate financial information to a broad (often non-financial) audience and make the complex simple
- Comfortable with ambiguity that comes with working within an ever-changing business across a broad portfolio
- Strong emphasis on team and supporting the success and development of those around youFinance-related degree and/or working towards a professional qualification (CPA or CA equivalent)
