We are looking for a Behaviour Support Practitioner who has met the capabilities framework at a proficient level or above, to work in a supportive, flexible & unique working arrangement, in the Canberra region and surrounding areas. **The role includes**:

- Working with a range of clients with a disability from 7 years of age and above, including complex needs clients.
- Undertaking comprehensive functional behaviour assessment.
- Training supports involved with the client including care teams, schools, and families.
- Developing evidence-based support plans within a positive behaviour support framework, and with a commitment to eliminate &/or reduce restrictive practices, in the home and community.
- Ensuring individual plans reflect the NDIS participants' goals, passions, and strengths.
- Building the knowledge, capacity, and strengths of those who support participants in their lives - family, carers, friends, etc.
- Working collaboratively within the team, including mentoring & supervision by experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners.
- Acting as an advocate and role model for best practice.

**What do you need to join**:

- Formal Qualifications in a relevant area such as social work, psychology, teaching, nursing etc.
- At least 12 months experience working as a Behaviour Support Practitioner at a proficient level or above, & or other relevant experience.
- Experience working with children & adults across the lifespan.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Current or willing to obtain an ABN & suitable insurance
- Current driver’s licence
- Current WWVP card
- Ongoing External Clinical Supervision

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Canberra, ACT: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
