**Position Information**:
Adamstown Public School is situated in inner-city Newcastle. The school is set in spacious grounds and serves a well-established and diverse community, comprising people from a range of social and cultural backgrounds.

The projected school population for 2025 is 435 students -17 mainstream classes from Kindergarten to Year 6, 9% of students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, and 8% have a language background other than English, requiring EAL/D (English as an Additional Language or Dialect) support. The school's current Family Occupation and Education Index (FOEI) is 49.
Adamstown Public School is a proud member of the Kotara Community of Schools and is part of the Muloobinbah Local Aboriginal Educational Consultative Group.
**Selection Criteria**:
1. Approval to teach K-6 with a high-level understanding and ability to deliver rigorous learning programs using explicit teaching, which effectively assess student progress, provide quality feedback and differentiate to meet the needs of all students.
2. Proven ability to use effective classroom management and wellbeing practices to create a classroom environment that is engaging and fosters a culture of high expectations and a sense of belonging.
3. Demonstrated experience in creating an inclusive learning environment that embeds Aboriginal histories, cultures and perspectives, resulting in improved educational outcomes for Aboriginal students and strengthened partnerships with their families and the wider learning community.
4. Highly developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with proven ability to build positive and productive working relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community.
5. Demonstrated capacity to propose, plan, and implement whole school initiatives that promote the creative and performing arts and student voice.
