- Plan, prepare and deliver the Australian Curriculum
- Provided quality and effective teaching which are consistent with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers;
- Build positive and effective relationships with students to enable them to be successful in their first year of learning
- Work as part of a teaching team to implement the Australian Curriculum and school initiatives. Work collaboratively with others.
- Support students through interaction with them in a variety of settings and through the active development of supportive learning environments and effective behaviour management practices.
- Provide for the physical, social, cultural and emotional wellbeing and physical safety of students whilst at school
- Assess students (diagnostic, formative and summative) for developmental, feedback and reporting purposes.
- Maintain student records and samples of work and report on student performance to students, parents, the department and other stakeholders.
- Participate in the collaborative development and evaluation of curriculum (the sum total of all learning experiences) and regularly monitor, through observation and evaluation, the effectiveness of the learning/teaching program.
- Establish and maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships with parents and cares, including maintaining positive and appropriate relations between the school and community.
- Participate as appropriate, in school decision making processes and professional development

- Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. Pre-service/graduate teachers must have been granted provisional registration prior to commencing employment as a teacher. For more information regarding registration requirements, please CLICK HERE
- In addition to registration, teachers working in Education and Care Services (including State Delivered Kindergarten programs) require an exemption card issued by Blue Card Services. For more information on blue cards and exemption cards, please CLICK HERE.
