We’re currently looking for a **creative, intuitive, and emotionally intelligent Support Worker** to support one of our clients based in **Craigieburn**. This is a casual, flexible role that blends practical assistance with shared creativity, emotional insight, and genuine companionship.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic, real-life environments. Someone who can combine practical support with shared interests in crafts, creativity, and emotional connection. It’s more than just assistance with daily living, it’s about presence, trust, and shared moments of meaning.

We are seeking someone who already brings valuable life or creative skills and who can offer authentic, grounded support. This is not a beginner’s role, we are seeking someone with hands-on experience who can engage confidently, share their skills meaningfully, and connect with our client as a peer mentor rather than as a learner.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Provide day-to-day assistance with household tasks and community access in a respectful, person-centred way.
- Engage in creative or skill-based sessions (crafts, repairs, tech, etc.) based on your experience and shared interests with the client.
- Create a calm, structured, yet flexible support space that respects the client's mood and energy levels.
- Communicate clearly and empathetically, building trust through presence, not pressure.
- Adapt naturally to changing routines and offer both practical and emotional support with sensitivity.
- Respect personal space, boundaries, and autonomy while remaining proactive and responsive.

**Skills and Knowledge**: We’re Looking for Someone Who Can:

- **Creative Arts**: Strong skills in intermediate to advanced crochet (particularly amigurumi), macramé, needlework, polymer clay, têxtile dyeing, or similar crafts.
- **DIY & Practical Projects**: Experience with creative upcycling, repurposing, or home organisation projects.
- **Tech Confidence**: Able to guide someone with intermediate digital knowledge and support them to build on existing skills.
- **Mental Health Understanding**: Familiarity with psychosocial disability and trauma-informed support approaches, with the ability to adapt and respond to changing needs.
- **Relational Strength**: Warm, grounded, and intuitive, you know how to create safe, respectful connections that support emotional wellbeing.

**Qualification and Requirements**:

- Worker’s Screening Check (NDIS Worker Check).
- National Police Check.
- Clear spoken and written English skills
- Working With Children Check (if applicable).
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability, Aged Care) or a similar qualification is highly regarded.
- Previous experience in disability support or a related field (preferred but not essential).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (required).

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $38.22 - $95.55 per hour
