About the role:
Astellas is searching for a Strategic Account Manager to join the team As the Strategic Account Manager, your primary purpose will be to lead and manage commercial strategies across the Astellas portfolio. This role will also include developing and maintaining strategic business relationships with key accounts to increase brand awareness.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will focus on reviewing and reporting on environmental and healthcare industry trends to ultimately identify new opportunities.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing business plans aligned with commercial strategies for major accounts, within the context of the overall strategic plan
- Developing and implementing strategies for major accounts which are based on current and anticipated customer requirements.
- Actively monitor market trends through personal contact with clients and suppliers and attendance at industry association meetings and seminars. Provide feedback to the Head of Operations and respective Business Units.
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
- Years of appropriate KAM and/or marketing experience or relevant B2B commercial experience
- Understanding of the Australian pharmaceutical market, including a working knowledge of the retail pharmacy & hospital channels, generic market, and supply chains/distribution channels
- Proven successes in contract & tender negotiations and management ideally within the hospital channel
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with healthcare industry stakeholders at all levels
- Strategic and technical thinker with a willingness to explore and seek opportunities to enhance Astellas’ commercial profile in the healthcare ecosystem/value chain
- Strong analytical skills; including experience reviewing sales results & metrics, and making recommendations for future actions
Preferred Knowledge & Experience:
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills, ability to manage multiple projects, ability to meet deadlines, and strong attention to detail.
- Awareness of or experience with digital and multichannel sales concepts
- Demonstrate exceptional leadership of people, including with and without authority
- Dynamic, motivating, and entrepreneurial-minded with an internal drive to continuously hit goals and deadlines. Proactive attitude with curiosity and desire to learn
- Demonstrated growth mindset and agility competencies
- Highly curious high learning agility and orientation
- Strong financial and business acumen
Education/Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in Marketing and/or Business
- Life Sciences/Pharmacy qualifications preferred
