Catering Manager

**About the role**
As one of the largest suppliers of essential services in the South Australian region Ventia, in partnership with the Australian Defence Force, delivers base services across multiple Defence Bases.

We are thrilled to be on the hunt for, not just any Catering Manager but an absolute Go Getter who is ready to make an impact and positively influence our team of hospitality professionals. Who will oversee Hospitality and Catering Services that contribute to the delivery, operation and protection of Defence capability.

RAAF Edinburgh is home to a large production kitchen with 3 dining rooms & 3 bars. The Woodside and Keswick Barracks have a further 5 dining rooms and 6 bars. DST Edinburgh offers café style catering with plenty of opportunity to really show your flare You will be working alongside and managing a work force of around 30 staff on any given shift. You have the opportunity here to get a feel for the base and decide for yourself when you believe it will be most beneficial for you to be on site supporting your teams. **What you'll be doing**:

- Manage and develop staff from Head Chefs to Supervisors and Dining room attendants.
- Continuous decision making, negotiation, conflict resolution and problem solving.
- In collaboration with the Defence Force, you’ll design menus and oversee the planning and execution of all aspects relating to Defence Force VIP nights and other Camps and events.
- Working with a wide variety of customers to understand their catering needs.
- Oversee rostering, ensuring you are acknowledging and tailoring staff requirements.
- Ensure performance is maintained in accordance with the financial budget and KPIs.
- Perform service inspections on service delivery areas.

**About you**
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role managing catering and hospitality events.
- Proactive, energetic and shares a passion for the hospitality industry.
- People management experience or skills - we need an empathetic and innovative ear to empower our team members.
- Strong emphasis on Food Safety and/or HACCP Certification.

Must be eligible to hold a baseline Defence Security Clearance.
As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen.
