**The Role**
Ventia, in collaboration with the Australian Defence Force, is seeking a proactive and experienced Functions & Events Supervisor to lead and manage the delivery of exceptional customer service at events and functions at RAAF Base Edinburgh. This role involves overseeing the front-of-house operations for a variety of functions, from planning and preparation to execution, ensuring smooth and successful events that meet Defence standards and traditions. You will also assist the Hospitality & Catering Coordinator in coordinating events, managing staffing, and providing hands-on supervision during functions.
- This permanent full-time position is based at the RAAF Base Edinburgh, South Australia. The main kitchen operates daily from approximately 6:00 am to 9:30 pm, with VIP events extending until around 11:00 pm. Hours and shifts may vary from week to week; however, the majority of shifts will be Monday to Friday with most events occurring on these days. Most events are located at RAAF Edinburgh or Keswick Barracks, though some may take place at other South Australian bases, such as Woodside, and additional locations.

**Benefits**

- Base rate: $30.99 per hour.
- Penalty rates for evening shifts, weekends and public holidays.

**Responsibilities**
- **Event Supervision**:Oversee events/functions at RAAF Base Edinburgh, ensuring smooth execution from planning to pack down, including coordination with the Hospitality & Catering Coordinator for equipment and logistics.
- **Event Preparation & Equipment Management**:Ensure all necessary event materials, such as menus and place cards, are available and properly set up. Coordinate with the kitchen for dietary needs and menu timing.
- **Staffing & Scheduling**: Manage staffing, create rosters, arrange temporary staff when needed, recruit and train FOH team members, and ensure payroll approvals align with budget requirements while driving service quality and productivity improvements.
- **On-the-Day Event Management**:Supervise events, conduct pre-start meetings, and resolve issues during the event to ensure everything runs according to plan.
- **Stakeholder Coordination**: Liaise with the Point of Contact (POC) during events, ensuring adherence to Defence standards and participating in planning meetings to ensure clear communication.
- **Budget & Quality Control**: Ensure events stay within budget and meet SHEQ and WHS standards.

**Required Skills & Experience**
- Demonstrated experience as a event/function supervisor. (required)
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification. (required)
- Ability to hold NV1 Defence Clearance and current Aus driver's licence. (required)
- Strong stakeholder relationship-building skills.
- High accountability and attention to detail in managing operations.

**_Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen._**
