**The Opportunity**
As a result of this growth, our Mining Infrastructure and Project Delivery team is seeking a Cost Controller within the Adelaide office. This position will engage your aptitude in project management and cost control to deliver multiple projects in our Mining Infrastructure and Project Delivery business.
The role of the Cost Controller is critical in providing high level support to the Project Manager in order to mitigate risk and facilitate delivery of multi-disciplinary projects on schedule and within budget.
**What you will do**:
- Understanding and tracking WSP project costs and cost to client.
- Assisting with the preparation, monitoring and updating of project delivery documentation including estimate at completion cost sheets and project files
- Project financial management and control including but not limited to:
- Earned Value Management
- Monitoring costs incurred against budget
- Financial tracking and reporting
- Variance analysis to identify project variances
- Assist Project Manager issuing monthly invoices
- Approving and tracking of creditor invoices to be paid
- Development of project work breakdown structures
- liaising with accounts payable to process prompt payments, credit card reconciliation, timesheet and expense management
- Scheduling, updating project schedules to align with completed activities and deliverables.
- Assist with tender preparation, track deliverables and RFQ
- Assisting the Project Manager manage multidisciplinary projects through the full spectrum of the project life cycle and delivering on time and to budget
- Managing the production of quality reports and documents
- Embedding Project Controls, Contracts Administration, Construction Management and Cost Planning into projects systems and processes
**What we will love about you**
- Typically 6 - 8+ years’ experience
- Excel skills a must
- Previous administration and business support experience in a project management environment is desirable
- Financial management experience including budgeting and project controls
- Experience working in the mining sector or an engineering consultancy will be highly regarded but not essential.
- Ability to demonstrate a resourceful approach to work, displaying initiative and decision-making skills.
- Excellent technical writing skills with experience in proposal writing and technical reporting.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive mindset and a self-starter
