SIA Support Services is seeking experienced, compassionate, and resilient Disability Support Workers to join our team for a brand-new Disability Accommodation (SIL) home in Beveridge, Victoria.This opportunity involves supporting client(s) living with schizophrenia, a history of substance misuse, and behaviours of concern including absconding. We’re looking for professionals who are calm under pressure, trauma-informed, and confident working within structured Positive Behaviour Support frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver person-centred, strengths-based daily living support including personal care, medication management, and meal preparation.

Promote independence, emotional wellbeing, and skill-building through consistent routines and respectful engagement.

Respond calmly and effectively to behaviours of concern using approved Positive Behaviour Support strategies.

Support community inclusion and social engagement while maintaining duty of care.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with NDIS standards.

Work collaboratively with behaviour practitioners, coordinators, and mental health professionals.

What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience supporting individuals with psychosocial disability, mental health diagnoses, and challenging behaviours.

Ability to remain composed in high-stress situations and respond empathetically to complex needs.

Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, mental health recovery models, and safeguarding protocols.

Current driver’s licence and reliable, roadworthy vehicle.

Flexibility for shift work across mornings, afternoons, evenings, sleepovers, and weekends.

Mandatory Requirements:
Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services, or Mental Health (or currently studying).

Current First Aid and CPR certification.

NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.

Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination status.

Manual Handling and Medication Administration training (or willing to complete).Highly Regarded:
Experience working in supported accommodation or forensic disability environments.

Mental Health First Aid or Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training.

Cultural competence and multilingual skills.
