We are currently seeking an **Associate Investment Analyst **to join our Research team in Melbourne, Full-Time basis.

The role of the Associate Investment Analyst is to provide a high-level of managed fund product research to financial advisers and other subscribers.

The Associate Investment Analyst will work across a range of asset classes including fixed income, global equities, alternatives, Australian equities, property and multi asset sectors. An understanding of private markets and property will be highly regarded but not mandatory.

**Responsibilities**:

- Analyse and conduct research on managed funds products within the relevant asset class as per the Annual Review Cycle, under the guidance and direction of Senior Investment Analysts and Sector Managers.
- Provide research support to the Managed Funds Research team.
- Undertake reviews of Investment Managers as assigned by the Sector Manager and in conjunction with other Analysts - collecting and synthesizing written information, assessing the merits of products and preparing research reports covering people and resources, investment style and objectives, research approach, portfolio construction and risk management.
- Prepare Fund Profile, Fund Viewpoint, Fund Review and other research reports for new and existing managed funds products, and other investment review and outlook reports across asset classes.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Previous experience (2+) working with a research house, stockbroker, dealer group, fund manager or corporate.
- Research skills (qualitative) - A strong ability to synthesize and distil financial information down to key concepts and convey this in written form efficiently, clearly and concisely. Strong attention to detail is essential.
- A demonstrable interest in finance and investment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills - Meet deadlines and coordinate and juggle various tasks at a time (and reprioritise as new tasks come to hand).
- A strong and demonstrable understanding of investment markets and asset classes.
- Interviewing/communication skills - Ability to undertake in-depth interviewing in a rigorous and penetrating yet personable and professional fashion. Ability to communicate confidently and question articulately, and be confident in dealing with senior management within external organisations.
- Strong communication and relationship management skills to enable liaising with external clients with the ability to effectively handle queries and concerns.
- Ability to work as part of a close-knit team, as well as autonomously whilst taking responsibility for meeting own objectives.
- Positive attitude. Expertise in Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets) and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.

**Essential qualifications**:
An undergraduate degree in a business or mathematical based discipline (science or engineering) e.g. BComm, BBus, BA, BEc, BSc, BApSci

**Highly regarded qualifications**:

- CFA
- Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA)
- Master of Business Administration / Economics / Commerce / Applied Finance RG146 Accreditation
