Gatton is located in the Lockyer Valley 40kms east of Toowoomba and less than an hour from Brisbane. Gatton State School has approximately 450 students from Prep to year 6 and includes an Early Childhood Development Program (ECDP). The school's improvement focus is heavily embedded in all aspects of the Australian Curriculum (AC).
Gatton State School can trace its history down through two centuries and look back with pride at its contribution to education in the Lockyer Valley. Parents, citizens and staff have, and continue to, work long hours to secure up to date amenities and resources for the school to ensure students are able to grow strive and succeed. The school caters for a diverse student population, including those for whom English is a second language, from families associated with the University of Queensland, the urban centre of Gatton, and the rural industry.
