Gold Coast, Australia Care Compass Collective Full time

We are currently seeking casual or contracted Disability Support Workers to support participants in the Gold Coast Region.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Minimum Certificate III in Mental Health/Disability Services
- Alternatively, a minimum of 2 years experience
- Competence in medication administration
- Proficiency in supporting children with Autism/ADHD and managing associated complex behaviours.

**Requirements**:

- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card - Paid)
- NDIS Worker Screener Check
- Current police clearance
- Current First Aid & CPR certification
- Valid driver's license, comprehensive car insurance, and a reliable vehicle
- Flexibility with scheduling, including weekends.

**Tasks & Responsibilities (including but not limited to)**:

- Providing assistance with daily activities
- Facilitating community engagement opportunities
- Establishing and encouraging positive routines
- Implementing effective behavioural management techniques

**About You**:

- Warm, approachable, and capable of building rapport
- Committed, dependable, and empathetic
- Excellent communicator with strong organisational skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Skilled in managing challenging behaviours calmly and effectively
- Proficient in problem-solving under pressure and adaptable to change
- Resilient and compassionate towards the needs of children with disabilities

Hourly rates will be in line with the Social, Community, Home Care, and Disability Services (SCHADS) Award.

**Job Types**: Casual, Contract

**Salary**: From $34.47 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 10 per week

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Morning shift
- Rotating roster

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (preferred)
- National Police Certificate (preferred)
- Driver Licence (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)

Work Location: In person
