**Your role in our future.**
Duties will include managing urology in-patients and outpatients with close liaison between the Division of Cancer Surgery and the Department of Anaesthesia & Pain Medicine, as well as integration into the multidisciplinary Genitourinary Oncology tumour stream.
There are extensive research opportunities within the Division of Cancer Surgery as well as research laboratories at our Centre. The successful applicant will have a demonstrable interest in research and is expected to play a key role in continuing our highly successful research program. There is also the possibility for private assisting.
The position involves working with a dedicated multidisciplinary team of cancer specialists in a tertiary referral cancer centre. The successful applicant is involved in the diagnosis, work up, surgery and post-operative care of urology patients. It also involves the care of non-operative and palliative patients. The fellow is expected to be involved with managing the unit, outpatients, teaching, research and being involved in the on-call roster.
The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre at the Victoria Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) is Australia’s only public hospital solely dedicated to cancer and one of an elite group of hospitals worldwide to have its own integrated cancer research program and laboratories. Since June 2016 the hospital has partnered with the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Royal Women’s Hospitals in Melbourne. The new building is also shared with the University of Melbourne with additional research links to the many research Institutes in Parkville.
