**About the role**

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and compassionate individual to join our team in a dual-role position that covers both **kitchen hand** and **cleaning** duties within our aged care facility.

This role involves maintaining cleanliness and organization of our facilities and assisting with cleaning duties to ensure a high standard of service and prepare resident's meals according to the dietary/care plans in accordance with developed menus while ensuring to follow the correct food handling techniques.

**About the Facility**

- Recently acquired by the Aegis Aged Care Group, Aegis St Michael’s is located close to North Perth’s vibrant café and shopping district. It is situated on a quiet suburban street surrounded by heritage residential dwellings.

Aegis St Michael’s is a bright and spacious residence with particular attention being given to the shared outdoor and indoor living spaces. It is an open community being made up of a culturally diverse population including many from Italian and Macedonian backgrounds.

**About You**

You should ideally be an empathetic person who:

- Enjoys working with the elderly.
- Can work independently and as part of a team.
- Is reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.
- Has good communication skills and interpersonal skills.

**With cleaning, you will need to have**:

- Prior cleaning experience in a health care setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of infection control principles and commercial cleaning operations, including the safe use of chemicals.
- Knowledge and prior experience in relation to laundry services(desirable).
- Good communication skills.
- Have full Australian working rights and able to pass a national police clearance.

**With kitchen hand shifts, you will need to have**:

- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role (preferably in Healthcare Industry).
- Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people.
- A knowledge of food safety.
- Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.
