A Barman, often referred to as a Bartender, is responsible for providing an excellent guest experience by preparing and serving beverages, maintaining the bar area, and ensuring responsible service

Core Responsibilities and Duties

**1. Beverage Preparation and Service**
- **Mixology**: Prepare a wide range of beverages, including cocktails, mocktails, beers, wines, and spirits, following standard or unique recipes with precision and speed.
- **Customer Interaction**: Greet customers warmly, take drink and food orders, and serve beverages and snacks.
- **Recommendations**: Assess customer needs and preferences to make informed recommendations or upsell premium items.
- **Presentation**: Ensure all drinks are garnished and presented attractively.

**2. Responsible Alcohol Service**
- **Legal Compliance**: Check customers' identification to verify they meet the legal drinking age.
- **Monitoring**: Monitor customers' consumption and politely refuse service to overly intoxicated individuals, adhering to all local laws and company policies (e.g., Responsible Service of Alcohol/TIPS).
- **Safety**: In some cases, assist in arranging safe transportation for customers who are over-intoxicated.

**3. Bar Operations and Maintenance**
- **Cleanliness**: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary bar area, including washing glassware, wiping down surfaces, and ensuring all equipment is clean and functional.
- **Stock Management**: Restock and replenish bar inventory, liquor, glassware, garnishes, and supplies throughout the shift.
- **Preparation**: Prepare garnishes, juices, and syrups before and during service hours.
- **Equipment**: Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of bar equipment (e.g., shakers, blenders, coffee machine).

**4. Financial and Administrative Tasks**
- **Cash Handling**: Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, process cash, credit, and debit card transactions accurately, and manage the till/cash float.
- **Opening/Closing**: Complete opening and closing duties, which may include setting up the bar, counting inventory, and securing high-value products.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- **Mixology Knowledge**: Extensive knowledge of drink recipes, spirits, wine, beer, and mixology techniques.
- **Customer Service Excellence**: A friendly, engaging, and professional demeanor with the ability to build rapport with customers and handle complaints.
- **Communication**: Excellent verbal and active listening skills.
- **Multitasking & Efficiency**: Ability to handle multiple orders, tasks, and customer interactions simultaneously under pressure, especially during peak hours.
- **Attention to Detail**: Precision in measuring ingredients, handling money, and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
- **Stamina**: Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy cases of supplies (up to 50 lbs in some locations), and move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- **Legal Compliance**: Knowledge of local and national laws regarding the sale and service of alcohol.
- **Experience**: Proven working experience as a Barman/Bartender
- **Certifications**: Relevant certifications (e.g., Responsible Service of Alcohol)

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $31.00 - $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 35 per week
