An opportunity exists for a Compliance Professional to join the HSE team based at our Perth metro location. The primary purpose of the role is to ensure that RUC Mining applies a proactive continuous improvement framework through governance and compliance auditing to ensure an embedded and consistent culture that not just meets, but exceeds RUC, Client and regulatory requirements domestically.

This role will require direct interaction and influence at operational levels and will include operational and project assignments when required.
- Supporting and working closely with the Associate Director - People, Risk and the Environment, you will play a key part in the execution of the HSET strategic plan and the development and implementation of assigned continuous improvement projects, including development and review of operating procedures, standards, plans, programmed roll out of initiatives, crisis management support, new project implementation and other areas as required.

**Key responsibility areas include but are not limited to:

- Responsible and accountable for governance and compliance evaluations and the continuous improvement of safety and other management plans for RUC Mining.
- Responsible and accountable for ensuring RUC governance and compliance with client HSET management system requirements, domestic regulatory obligations and the ongoing management of ISO 45001, quality, environmental and training frameworks.
- Undertake internal audits and coordinate external audits to identify areas for improvement and or management actions. Upload audit results into the RUC management systems database and monitor and follow-up on action closeout and compliance utilising formal verification processes.
- Compile and communicate RUC HSE reporting requirements for internal and external stakeholders and analyse HSE data and report on trends and continuous improvement requirements. The provision of adhoc HSE reporting may also be required on occasions
- Complete HSET document writing requirements including developing and implementing theory and practical assessments for as and when required.
- Monitor industry and regulatory updates and communicate future or current state compliance requirements.
- Assist policy owners and management with understanding HSE or regulatory compliance requirements in their respective areas and develop, implement and manage the legal compliance register.
- Monitor and assess current projects and client contractual requirements with a view to continuously improve RUC management plans and HSET systems through RUCCheck and other audits and assessments.
- Ensure HSE system licensing requirements for SAI global, Chemwatch, etc. are updated as per contractual requirements.
- Collaborate and create strong interpersonal relationships with department and project teams to ensure internal and external auditing and monitoring requirements are managed and improvement actions completed and verified.
- Comply with reporting requirements as directed by the Associate Director - People, Risk and the Environment.
- Support project delivery through information sharing, process review, governance and compliance monitoring, auditing, reviewing and resourcing support.
- Ensure projects operate in compliance with company standards and policies as amended from time to time.
- Implement client mandated safety systems and processes and integrate continuous improvement opportunities into RUC HSET standards, plans and systems.
- Diploma in OH&S or equivalent.
- Manual ‘C’ class driver’s license.
- Microsoft Office proficiency and a proficiency in document writing including the development of theory and competency assessments.
- Proficient understanding of mining legislation and workplace HSET.
- Have a thorough understanding of HSET and compliance systems.
- Have a thorough understanding of the implementation and management of ISO 45001 and of quality, environmental and training frameworks.
- Formal auditing qualifications.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in underground mining and related HSET management.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build solid long-term relationships.
- A value set that demonstrates commitment, integrity, accountability, care and respect.
- Certificate 4 in training and assessment.
- ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training.
