Reporting to the Racecourse Manager, this permanent **full-time** position will include maintaining the course proper, training tracks and grounds at **Mornington Racecourse** ensuring they are presented in the best possible condition.

Ideally, you will have a proven background in a hands-on role from within the grounds maintenance, racecourse, turf management, or other relevant industries. You will bring your experience and passion for gardening to a range of duties aimed at maintaining and enhancing the natural beauty of the grounds.

**What will your responsibilities be?**
- Undertake general turf maintenance work including; mowing, track repairs, rail moves, operation of a large range of machinery, pre and post-race day tasks, and any other reasonable horticultural and facility maintenance related tasks.
- Operate plant equipment such as tractors, ride on mowers, front end loader, forklift, power sweepers, power harrows, brush cutters, hedgers, push mowers and general chemical spraying operations.
- Assist with garden maintenance tasks: hedging, weeding, pruning, and mulching.

**Skills & Experience**
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably in turf management.
- Previous experience in landscaping, gardening, or a related field is an advantage.
- General operational and mechanical maintenance skills.
- Appropriate licences to operate specialist machinery such as a manual vehicle, front end loader and forklifts (as applicable).
- Sound knowledge and practical experience of handling and spraying chemicals.
- A demonstrable ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Sound verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Physical fitness, reliability, punctuality and strong work ethic.
- Experience working outdoors.
