Mechanical Maintenance Technician

- Develop and maintain technical standards
- Central location just 30 minutes from Newcastle CBD

The primary purpose of this role is to support the Mobile Maintenance Department to prevent equipment failures and optimise reliability by determining improvements, developing and maintaining technical standards for the area and the development and implementation of reliability and proactive maintenance strategies.

**PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Contribute to the area EHS plan
- Contribute to the skills and training profile of the trades
- Develop quality scope of works for outsourced work and major maintenance
- Implement cost effective technical and engineering improvements
- Develop and maintain equipment setup and installation standards and practices to improve mobile equipment availability
- Develop, implement and maintain work quality standards for serviced mobile equipment
- Assist in the on boarding and commissioning of Capital Mobile purchases
- Perform vehicle health audits to form the basis of a Capital Replacement of Major Maintenance investment
- Oversight on technical aspects of Mobile Equipment apprentice training

**ESSENTIAL CRITERIA**
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Significant experience in mobile equipment reliability within a heavy industry environment
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and continuous improvement
- Demonstrated commitment to organisational objectives with an ability to prioritise and adapt to meet business needs
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to engage others in the achievement of goals
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs and maintenance systems (preferably SAP)
