An exciting opportunity exists as a Patient Support Assistant to be responsible for improving the patient's experience within your daily tasks, both directly and indirectly. You will provide a safe environment by ensuring its cleanliness and provide staff with ready access to the clean linen, material and equipment. You will have the opportunity to interact with patients by moving them safely throughout the hospital and assist the clinical team to position and support their patients during the treatment and care.
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south to Gympie in the north.
Nambour General Hospital has a proud history of providing services to the Sunshine Coast community since the 1920s and is undergoing an $86 million Redevelopment Project which will expand the hospital's capacity and upgrade some existing clinical areas to support the needs of the community.
Operational Support includes the Environmental Service and Food Service. The Environmental Service provides the resources to support Cleaning, Linen supply, Waste collection and staff for patient movement (porterage).
**Key Responsibilities include**:
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with Infection Control Guidelines
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled cleaning tasks as per task specification / procedure list.
- Bed cleaning and making for discharge rooms.
- Assist clinical staff to position and support patients during treatment and care.
