**The opportunity**

Are you passionate about helping others and enjoy working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment? Hobsons Bay City Council is looking for a **Food Services Assistant** to join our dedicated team delivering high-quality, nutritious meals to older residents and people with disabilities.

As a Food Services Assistant, you’ll play an important role in preparing and distributing meals to individuals in their homes and at local community centres. You’ll be part of a supportive, community-focused team, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met while providing friendly and reliable service.

**What you'll do**
- Accurately package and label meals for delivery
- Keep the kitchen and dispatch areas clean and tidy
- Help deliver meals to clients and community centres
- Assist with food preparation for events when needed
- Rotate stock and help reduce food waste
- Follow HACCP food safety procedures
- Provide excellent service to clients, volunteers, and the community

**About you**
- You care about people and take pride in work that supports others’ wellbeing
- You’re reliable, organised, and comfortable working both independently and in a team
- You follow processes well and are committed to safe food handling

**What you'll need to succeed**
- A current Victorian Driver’s Licence (essential)
- A Food Handling Certificate or Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (desirable)
- Knowledge of HACCP principles or experience in food services (desirable)
- Basic administrative and communication skills
